Our Mission

Fortius Sport & Health is an integrated athlete development centre strengthened through philanthropy and focused on optimizing human performance for life.


​​​​​We're proud that Fortius Sport & Health has attracted some of the leading names in sport and exercise medicine, working together as a fully integrated practitioner team. Our Fortius team works in tandem with our senior leadership and management to ensure integration, collaboration and innovation on multiple fronts.

Nicholas Held<p>​</p><p></p><p>Nick Held brings a wealth of knowledge to the integrated practitioner team at Fortius Sport & Health. He joins the team as the Director of Hydrotherapy but brings additional experience as a strength and conditioning coach. He exemplifies his passion for education and continuing development as he is currently completing his PhD in Experimental Medicine at UBC. Nick has years of experience using HydroWorx pools to help individuals optimize performance and rehabilitation and reach their full potential. Erin Bussin<p>​​​</p><p>As part of the integrated team at Fortius Sport & Health, Kinesiologist & Strength and Conditioning Coach Erin Bussin brings her experience of working with special populations in both the clinical and research setting. Erin earned her Master of Science in Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of British Columbia. Prior to Fortius, she spent 2 years in the research environment attaining skills to better help design and implement evidence-based rehabilitation programs. She is always looking for ways to expand her knowledge in health and wellness, performance, and maximizing client potential. Outside of work Erin's passion is Ultimate.
