Fortius Sport & Health is an integrated athlete development centre strengthened through philanthropy and focused on optimizing human performance for life.

Our Fortius team works in tandem with our senior leadership and management to ensure integration, collaboration and innovation on multiple fronts.

Dr. Kevin Loopeker<p>​Dr. Loopeker is the lead practitioner behind sports vision at Fortius Sport & Health's Vision Performance Clinic. He has many years of experience working within the sports vision field and has served some high profile clients including members of the Canadian National Ski, Shooting and Soccer teams; and both men and women of the Vancouver Whitecaps. </p><p>Dr. Kevin Loopeker received his Doctorate Degree (with Distinction) from the Pacific University College of Optometry (Forest Grove, Oregon). Here he spent four years working as the Sports Vision Research Assistant to Dr. Alan Reichow, Director of Sports Vision at Pacific University and Chief Vision Consultant for Nike. During his post-doctoral training at the State University of New York College of Optometry, Dr. Loopeker was a Clinical Assistant Instructor at SUNY and earned a Certificate of Advanced Clinical Competency in Vision Therapy and Rehabilitation. Dr. Loopeker is a Fellow of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development and is Board Certified in Vision Therapy and Vision Development. Dr. Donna Mockler<p>Dr Mockler received her BSc degree (Math/Computer Science) from Dalhousie University. In 1983, she received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo where she was the recipient of the Award for Clinical Excellence. Dr Mockler has spent the past 27 years committed to maintaining the highest standard of clinical care and has teamed up with other doctors who are committed to the same vision.</p><p>Dr Mockler has had a longstanding interest in visual efficiency, exploring the relationship between vision and learning. She has established training programs in visual efficiency for many of Canada’s elite athletes and has participated in vision assessment clinics at the Barcelona & Lillehammer Olympic Games as well as organizing the eye care and sports vision services for the Victoria Commonwealth Games. Dr. Mockler also served as the Clinical Director for Canada of the Opening Eyes Program for Special Olympics.</p><p>She has chaired the Sports Vision Committee of the Canadian Association of Optometrists and has provided consultation to several other Sports Science committees. Dr. Mockler is excited to join Dr. Loopeker in bringing sports vision services to all athletes at the Fortius Institute.</p><p>Dr Mockler was the recipient of BC’s “Optometrist of the Year Award’ in 2002 in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the profession and the community.</p><p>She has a love of nature and the outdoors and nurtures these passions through her ongoing participation in adventure travel and athletics.</p>
