Our Mission

Fortius Sport & Health is an integrated athlete development centre strengthened through philanthropy and focused on optimizing human performance for life.


​​​​​We're proud that Fortius Sport & Health has attracted some of the leading names in sport and exercise medicine, working together as a fully integrated practitioner team. Our Fortius team works in tandem with our senior leadership and management to ensure integration, collaboration and innovation on multiple fronts.

Elizabeth Perrotta<p>​​​​​​​As part of the Fortius Lab team within Fortius Sport & Health, Certified Exercise Physiologist Elizabeth Perrotta brings experience in exercise physiology, strength and conditioning, phlebotomy and various sport specific certifications. Elizabeth has been published in a number of industry journals including the American College of Sports Medicine and the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology. She has been a Guest Lecturer and Laboratory Instructor at the University of Calgary where she completed her Masters of Kinesiology, Specializing in Applied Exercise Physiology. Megan Kidston<p>​Megan is a Certified Exercise Physiologist with a Master of Science degree from the University of Victoria and Canadian Sport Institute Pacific in Exercise Physiology. Her MSc research focus was on thermoregulation and its application to sport performance.  Megan has experience working with recreational and elite athletes, as well as coaches and integrated support team members through testing and monitoring in the daily training environment and competition in swimming, wheelchair rugby, rowing, triathlon, snowboard, freestyle skiing, and soccer. She has worked as a laboratory instructor at the University of Victoria and as a contractor with a focus on researching and applying current trends in training, performance, health and wellness, program building, and athlete monitoring. Recently, Megan traveled to Honduras with Soccer Canada's U20 women as the team's sport scientist, where a 2nd place finish earned them a berth in the 2016 Papua New Guinea U20 World Cup.</p><p>Megan is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys skiing, hiking, cycling and playing and coaching ultimate Frisbee. Kasia Nastalska<p>​​​Kasia is a Clinical Exercise Physiologist, having completed her B.Sc. Exercise and Health Physiology in Calgary, Alberta. Her belief in "Exercise is Medicine" and preventive rather than traditional medicine is what drove her to work in Chronic Disease Management, working with clients to encourage healthy lifestyle change to prevent and/or manage disease. With a strong interest in business and project management, Kasia has also supervised one of the largest studies in Alberta – the Alberta Pregnancy Outcomes and Nutrition Study involving over 2500 participants over 4 years.
