Lynda Cannell has been at the forefront of the promotion and development of the sport medicine, science and training sectors throughout her career. A Co-Founder & Chief Operating Officer of Fortius Sport & Health, Cannell has supported numerous Canadian Teams at both Summer and Winter Olympics (1988, 1996, and 2002), the World University Games (1993) and the World Police and Fire Games (1989) as Medical Coordinator and Medical Director. She also served as a member of the medical advisory board for the Vancouver 2010 Olympics and Paralympics Organizing Committee. She has experience on the boards of the Canadian Centre for Ethics and Sport, Sport BC, Sport Medicine and Science Council of Canada, among others. She was one of the original founding members of SportMedBC and has served the professional not-for-profit society as its President and CEO for 30 years.
