Fortius Sport & Health is an integrated athlete development centre strengthened through philanthropy and focused on optimizing human performance for life.
Ryan Murray has been a Physiotherapist and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist for over 8 years. Ryan enjoys working with all levels of athletes to develop sport specific exercises to prevent re-injury and facilitate elite performance.
Growing up playing high-contact sports like football and basketball, he quickly became introduced to physiotherapy through his own personal injuries. Soon he became more interested in what happens off the field rather than on, and his passion for rehabilitation began.
The love of sports and competitive play has continued throughout his career, working with professional and amateur athletes like the Vancouver Giants, the Junior and Senior Men's Canadian National Field Hockey Team, and the Men's Premier Columbus FC Soccer Team. He continues to explore new ways of physical therapy, and is currently pursuing a Sports Diploma through Sport Physiotherapy Canada.
Ryan believes in establishing a strong sense of community. He enjoys an active lifestyle and has volunteered with many local high school and community teams throughout the years. An avid cyclist and triathlete, Ryan has participated in the GranFondo Whistler, Ride to Conquer Cancer to Seattle, the Delta Triathlon, and the Vancouver Triathlon.
