Fortius Sport & Health is an integrated athlete development centre strengthened through philanthropy and focused on optimizing human performance for life.
Scott Cousens has been the guiding force behind the inception and development of what is now Fortius Sport & Health for close to a decade. His passion around athlete development and the elevation of sport medicine, sport science and sport training for a healthier, stronger Canada has inspired the leadership team committed to Fortius. Cousens has built his reputation in the mining sector as Director of Capital Finance for Hunter Dickinson Inc. There, he provides management, technical and financial services to nine publicly traded corporations. For the past 19 years, he has worked developing relationships within the international investment community. Substantial financings and subsequent corporate success has enabled him to establish strong ties with North American, European and Asian investors. As a principal of Hunter Dickinson, Cousens was one of the 2004 recipients of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Pacific Awards. He had a promising athletic career cut short by a series of serious injuries and hence was inspired to help create the kind of integrated sport training facility that he wished he could have had access to years ago.
