Our Mission

Fortius Sport & Health is an integrated athlete development centre strengthened through philanthropy and focused on optimizing human performance for life.

Clinical Pilates

Clinical Pilates helps you to strengthen your body and improve the way you move. Utilising specialized equipment, Clinical Pilates can facilitate and support you to achieve your goals for less effortful, and more efficient movement. Working with our highly trained registered physiotherapists, you will quickly see the benefits of Clinical Pilates as an adjunct to your rehabilitation, or for injury prevention.

Clinical Pilates at Fortius Sport & Health is held in the Beijing Movement Studio, our premier space for movement education. Clinical Pilates is directed by a registered physiotherapist, who combines the principles of Pilates movement education with a sound knowledge of anatomy, rehabilitation, and injury prevention.

Clinical Pilates is known for its focus on core strength, spinal stability, flexibility, and balance. Using specialized equipment, Clinical Pilates provides the perfect support for injury rehabilitation, especially of chronic injuries.

A great adjunct to regular training, Clinical Pilates can also help the athlete to integrate body control and awareness to improve their resilience to injury and to improve their performance. Many sporting teams worldwide utilize Pilates as part of their training regimes.

Clients start out working one-on-one with a physiotherapist, who develops a specific and individualized Clinical Pilates program for them. From here, clients progress into a more self-directed, group environment, where they will continue work on their unique goals.

How to start

Your initial assessment for Clinical Pilates will be with one of our registered physiotherapists. This initial assessment will be 60 minutes in duration.

Follow-up sessions will be 30, 40, or 60 minutes in duration; this will be determined through discussion with your physiotherapist.

When you and your physiotherapist determine it to be appropriate, you will transition to a semi-private group class. In this setting, you will still be working on an individualized Clinical Pilates program, and have supervision and input from your physiotherapist. This allows you to gain more independence and confidence with your movement practice.

Individual sessions are priced as for a normal physiotherapy visit at Fortius ($105/$140/$210 for 30/40/60 minutes).

Duets (2:1) are priced at $125 for 60 minutes*.

Semi-private sessions (4:1) are priced at $90 for 60 minutes*.

This service can be claimed as a physiotherapist appointment under your extended health care plan.
