Fortius sport dietitians provide advice for a wide variety of nutritional needs from active for life to high performance sport. Dietitians can help you ensure optimal nutrition intake, support body composition changes (weight gain, loss and maintenance), deal with medical and health conditions (such as iron deficiency, gastrointestinal disorders, food allergies), meal planning, supplement advising and more.
A one-on-one consultation with one of our Registered Dietitians provides our clients with comprehensive nutrition planning and education focusing on what is most important and pertinent for each individual athlete, including:
Reaching body composition goals for your sport
Proper fueling strategies around training (pre, during and post exercise nutrition)
Competition planning (e.g., making weight, carbohydrate loading, etc.)
Hydration testing to tailor specific fluid needs
Travel nutrition for adequate fueling on the road
Dealing with medical or health conditions (iron deficiency, food intolerances, gut diseases, etc.)
Special lifestyle diets (e.g., vegetarian or vegan)

Pre-assessment of team: Assessment of individual athlete's eating habits through a food record, and eating pattern through a sport nutrition questionnaire. Results from the pre-assessment are used to develop the group workshop based on team needs.

Athletes will learn what to add on their plate and what snacks to pack to fuel a training day. Recommended for athletes who have not had previous nutrition workshops or who need a basic nutrition review.

FUELING A WORKING DAY 9AM - 5PMBack to back meetings with no lunch break as well as workplace celebrations can make it difficult to make healthy choices. In this workshop, employees will learn how to eat well at work and manage the end of the day dinner struggles to boost energy, concentration and wellbeing during a busy work week.
READITION NUTRITION LABELS LIKE A PROThe increasing amounts of packaged foods in a grocery store can make label reading overwhelming. In this workshop, employees will learn how to read a nutrition fact table, recognize certain nutrients like fibre, salt and sugar as well as what ingredients to look for, for a healthier and smarter shopping.
SMART GROCERY SHOPPING & PLANNINGEmployees will go on a virtual supermarket tour to learn how to buy healthy and fresh food, plan meals and snacks and stay within their grocery budget.

SPORT NUTRITION 101 FOR RUNNERS/CYCLISTS/SPORT ENTHUSIASTSOverview of fuelling strategies for runners, cyclists or gym goers. Sport enthusiasts will learn about the foods that give long lasting energy to avoid bonking at a training session and prevent the mid-day energy slump on a hard training day.

7 day recipe plan within client's calorie need
2-3 day portion size plan (e.g., rest day, moderate training day and hard training day

Most extended health plans provide some coverage for counselling services with a registered dietitian. Check with your provider for more details on the benefits available to you. We do not directly bill third parties; however, we will provide you with a receipt that can be submitted to your health plan for reimbursement.
