Your lodge frequently asked questions, answered.

How do I make a reservation?

Call us directly at 604-292-2500. We will ask you for a credit card in order to confirm your reservation.

What are your room rates?

Rates have seasonal variation. Call 604-292-2500 for the current rate.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We require a valid MasterCard or VISA to hold your reservation. Final payment will occur on check out by credit card, cheque or debit. Unfortunately, we do not accept American Express or cash.

What time is check in and check out?

Check in begins at 3 pm and check out is 11 am.  Accommodating early check in or late check-out will depend on room availability.  Please inquire at the front desk to request early check in or late check out and we will do our best to accommodate.

What if I need to cancel after I’ve booked?

If you would like to adjust or cancel your reservation, we require a full 24 hours’ notice prior to your arrival date. For groups, the cancellation policy will depend on the amount of rooms booked. Please inquire with your sales rep.

What happens if I arrive after the building closes?

If you know in advance that you will be arriving after the facility closes, please notify us of your anticipated arrival time so we can be sure to meet you. If your late arrival is unexpected, call our night manager at 604-292-2526. You can also press the intercom at the front door to reach the night manager. Staff will be able to provide you with your room keys.

What kind of rooms do you have?

Standard rooms have 2 double beds, with a desk, side table and Optic TV along with a full bathroom. There are also rooms with one double bed that are designed for those using wheelchairs. Rooms do not have food storage or preparation amenities, but there is a full sized fridge on each floor for use by guests. All rooms have internet access and are air conditioned.

Where do I park?

Fortius Sport & Health offers complimentary parking on site. Please alert the reception staff when you check in, and they will provide a decal for your vehicle.

Where can I eat?

Game Changers Bistro is located on the second floor in Fortius Sport & Health. The Bistro offers a variety of nutritious healthy meal options. Starbucks is also located in Fortius Sport & Health, on the first floor. Vending machines are also located on each lodge floor.

There are many restaurants in the area. The Fortius front desk staff will be happy to help you find a local area restaurant or you can use our free Wi-Fi to discover your own restaurant destination.​

How do I set up health or sport appointments or activities?

All lodge guests receive a complimentary pass to the Training Centre, a fully equipped work out facility with top of the line equipment. Personal Training appointments can be purchased at our Fortius Training Centre front desk. More information on our training centre services can be found here.

The Fortius Institute offers a variety of sport and exercise medicine services. To book an appointment with any of our practitioners during your stay please call 604-292-2501.

What else is in the neighborhood?

Fortius Sport & Health is located in Burnaby’ well known Central Valley, home to a 4 field artificial turf complex, two municipal ice arenas, a swimming pool, Canlan 8 Rinks, Burnaby Lake and park with many walking or running trails. There is a local map in the Lodge Guest Book indicating where these facilities are located.

What if I want to go shopping, sight-see or visit friends?

If you have a vehicle, there are many shops and sights in Burnaby and Greater Vancouver worth visiting. More information on local attractions and shopping centers can be found on Tourism Burnaby’s website​​. Fortius Sport & Health is well located on many public transit bus routes and is only a 7 minute walk from the Sky Train (Sperling Station).

How do I get into the Lodge after hours?

Fortius Sport & Health is a combination of retail space, office space, health practitioner treatment spaces, training spaces and the lodge. Other than the lodge, the building closes for public access each night and re-opens in the morning. During this time, no one, other than lodge guests are allowed in the building. This ensures safety for all. If you plan on leaving the building and returning after hours, you should let the front desk know so they can inform the Night Manager, who will meet you when you come back for the evening.

How do I make a reservation for my team or group?

If you represent a group or a team and need multiple rooms, please contact the Fortius Group Bookings Manager at 604-292-2543.

Are there age restrictions?

Guests 16 years and under must have a parent/guardian sign an authorization form, and provide a credit card to be kept on file. Youth groups (under age 19) must provide adult chaperones. Chaperones are responsible for the behavior and full supervision of each individual in the group.​

What about meals?

Game Changers Bistro offers a catering service for every meal. The Catering Manager will discuss packages with you in advance to fit your budget and your team’s nutritional requirements.

My team would like to plan a Team Training session, E​ducational workshop as well as rent the gymnasium or field​ for a training program while at Fortius. How is this arranged?

Fortius Sport & Health provides a variety of team services from team training sessions to interactive nutritional workshops to gymnasium and field rentals.  Our Events & Training Camps Manger will book and coordinate any additional team services or amenities you request. Contact 604-292-2530​ directly to discuss your program goals.

Please note that although individual guests receive complimentary drop-in access to our Training Centre facility, Team Training sessions are a booked service.

We will have a large van or bus. Where can it be parked?​

Fortius Sport & Health has a large parking lot. Front desk staff will provide direction on the best area of the lot to park in when you arrive.
