Celebrate 5 years of Fortius with our Silent Auction!May 17, 2019 | by Lucy Fox
Hey sports fans! We are celebrating 5 years of Fortius with another incredible silent auction!
This time around, we are hoping to raise $10,000, and we have some more awesome items to make that happen.
From May 24 – June 3, visit the Fortius Atrium to place your bids on some big-ticket items, including:
- A Canadian women’s national soccer team signed jersey
- A signed Jeremy Lin Toronto Raptors Swingman jersey
- 2 X 2 night stays at the Four Seasons Whistler
- A Golden State Warriors signed basketball
- 2019 Vancouver Canucks team-signed jersey
- Vancouver Warriors lacrosse jersey
- Vanessa Vineyards wine package
All funds raised will go right back to the Fortius Foundation to support the KidsMove program.
KidsMove is a free program that integrates physical, lifestyle and mental skills to support the development of children aged 9-12. Steve Nash and a group of top healthcare practitioners collaborated with Fortius to create this program. Through a pioneering partnership with the Burnaby School District, KidsMove is now delivered as part of the school curriculum, bringing students and their teachers to Fortius for a 10-week program that is changing the Physical Education paradigm. For the 2018/19 school year, the program expanded to 9 schools across Burnaby, reaching 500 students and training 20 teachers and education assistants to support high quality physical education in schools.
This silent auction is happening throughout our 5-Year Celebration on Sunday, May 26, too! Make sure to stop by to check out some items in person, tour our facility, visit our partner booths and try out the kids sportzone — among tons of fun things happening around Fortius from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
