Meet Madeline Edwards!
Maddie is a competitive International Ice Dancer with the Vancouver Ice Dance Academy. As a top level athlete, Maddie began training at Fortius with Strength and Conditioning Coach Jermaine John-Archer in the Artistic Sports Program. Maddie and her ice dance partner Zhao Kai Pang has achieved great accomplishments such as winning the bronze medal at the ISU International World Junior Championships in 2014.
This month, however, we salute Maddie’s passion for the sport, her drive, and her determination to succeed after recovering from an ankle injury that took her off the ice and out of competition for almost a year. Maddie has overcome various months of treatments and interventions, from partial weight bearing to being back on the ice.
Through Fortius’ many services, Maddie has made tremendous progress in her training at the Training Centre as well as rehabilitation with Erik Torchia and other practitioners and physiotherapists of Fortius’ integrated team.
Congratulations Maddie on your road to recovery, and for being our Athlete of the Month. We look forward to your continued success – see you on the ice!
