NHL’s Tanner Glass inspires KidsMove youthJune 23, 2017
“As a parent, I think physical literacy programs like KidsMove are very important, because they teach kids how to move, and how to move the right way.” – Tanner Glass, New York Rangers
A key component of every KidsMove session is a guest appearance from an elite athlete. In May we were joined by David Edgar from Vancouver Whitecaps FC and on June 21, Tanner Glass of the NHL New York Rangers.
Following the night’s theme of ‘hydration’, Tanner shared why staying hydrated is an important component of not only sport, but being healthy in every aspect of life. He also tried out some of the activity stations with the kids! Check out the video for a quick highlight of Tanner’s experience.
KidsMove is a FREE two-hour physical literacy session that combines purposeful play with a variety of games and challenges led by experts to stimulate participants physically, cognitively and creatively. The program is powered by REACH, a collaboration between Fortius Sport & Health and the Steve Nash Foundation, Pro Motion Research Institute, and the IAD Group.
KidsMove will be taking a short break for the summer to return with our regular monthly sessions in the fall.
