Paul Gamble to elevate sport performance programming at FortiusJanuary 10, 2018
Internationally-recognized sport scientist, specialist in physical preparation and athletic development, and researcher and strategist, Paul Gamble (PhD) has joined Fortius Sport & Health as the Director of Sport Performance.
In this new role, Gamble will be working closely with Fortius’ senior leadership and integrated practitioner team to continue to grow the scope and practice of sport performance programming. Key focus areas will include physical preparation, performance rehabilitation, applied sport science and integrated support teams.
“Over the past several months, our team has been working on a number of exciting innovations to advance our sport performance pathways,” said Lynda Cannell, Chief Operations Officer and co-founder of Fortius Sport & Health. “Paul will play a key role in helping us to shape the strategic direction and implementation of these growing initiatives, so we can continue to provide the highest quality of services to our performance clientele and networks.”
In a career spanning two decades, across both northern and southern hemispheres, Gamble has worked with athletes of all ages, in a multitude of sports from recreational to professional levels.
“Having enjoyed the opportunity to work with a variety of organizations and teams in different parts of the world, I can say what is being created at Fortius is truly unique,” shared Gamble. “I couldn’t be more excited to work with this team of world-class practitioners in delivering on their vision.”
Paul spent the past six years in New Zealand, latterly serving as Coaching Director for the Athlete Development program at AUT-Millennium—a sport and health complex similar to Fortius.
“Working with our partners within B.C. and beyond, I believe Fortius can build on its reputation as a leader in sports injury and rehabilitation,” added Gamble. “I look forward to sharing my perspectives and expertise to further develop Fortius as a center for excellence in the areas of performance and innovation.”
Gamble completed his PhD in Exercise Physiology in 2005, and is the author of four textbooks, with a fifth title due for release in January 2018. Visit the Fortius Team page to read his full bio.
