Support the Fortius Foundation through our silent auction in July!June 23, 2018 | by Lucy Fox
From July 6-16, Fortius Sport & Health will be running a silent auction to raise funds for two pivotal programs supported by the Fortius Foundation: KidsMove and the athlete bursary program.
We will have some incredible items up for bidding throughout the week here in our Atrium, including signed shoes from Brooklyn Nets’ Jeremy Lin and San Antonio Spurs’ Dejounte Murray, wine from Vanessa Vineyard, John Fluevog Shoes and items from Vancouver Whitecaps FC and the Edmonton Oilers. Our goal is to raise $10,000 to support Fortius Foundation funded programs.
Here is a brief introduction to both programs being supported by the auction:
- KidsMove integrates physical, lifestyle and mental skills to support the development of children aged 9-12. Fortius Sport & Health, the Steve Nash Foundation, Pro Motion Research Institute, and the IAD Group have collaborated with Fortius to create this program. Through a pioneering partnership with the Burnaby School District, KidsMove is now delivered as part of the school curriculum, bringing students and their teachers to Fortius for a 10 week program that is changing the Physical Education paradigm.
- The athlete bursary program at Fortius ensures that economically disadvantaged athletes have access to the rehabilitation and training they need to optimize their performance. From young athletes with great potential, to para-athletes and athletes looking to take the next step in their career, our athlete bursary is helping develop the next generation of Canadians looking to compete on the world stage.
